A Pathway to Innovation and Growth
With global advancements in technology, including innovations in artificial intelligence (AI), Egypt has decided to stay at the forefront of these developments by establishing a Tech Syndicate.
On February 24, 2024, Law No. 13 was issued regarding the enactment and regulation of the Syndicate of Technologists.
The Prime Minister, based on the proposal of the Minister of Higher Education and with the approval of the Council of Ministers, issues a decision to form a temporary committee composed of eleven members who are professors from universities, research institutes, or technological colleges, with expertise in the technological field. This committee will oversee the establishment of the Technologists’ Syndicate, including opening membership registration and verifying that the conditions for membership specified in the accompanying law are met.
The Need for a Tech Syndicate in Egypt:

- It seeks to preserve the dignity of the profession, defend its practitioners, and ensure adherence to the traditions, ethics, and principles of the field. Additionally, the Syndicate is committed to improving members’ performance to keep pace with technological advancements.
- The Syndicate will encourage and promote innovations and advancements across various technological domains.
- It will support and strengthen applied research and experimental work, spread technological awareness, and provide necessary training and courses to help graduates develop professionally and scientifically.
- Furthermore, the Syndicate will contribute to the planning and development of technological educational programs and training methods, aligning them with the demands of both local and international labor markets.
- It will also focus on the social, material, and health needs of its members, fostering a spirit of camaraderie and providing social, economic, and health services to them and their families.
